About Plain Sight News

The news shouldn’t need a translator.

Plain Sight News is a digital newspaper with one simple promise: we explain what is happening in the world in clear, plain language that anyone can understand — no jargon, no insider shorthand, no assuming you already read the last twelve articles about the topic.

What we do

Every day, important things happen in politics, the economy, science, and health. Most news coverage is written for people who follow these topics professionally. We write for everyone else. Our articles start from the beginning, explain the background, and answer the question most news skips: what is actually going on here, and why does it matter to me?

Our sections

  • World — major events around the globe, explained clearly
  • Politics — power, policy and elections, without the jargon
  • Economy — money, markets and what it means for your wallet
  • Science & Tech — discoveries and technology shaping tomorrow
  • Health — medicine news you can actually understand
  • Explainers — the big stories, broken down step by step
  • Humanitarian — crises, aid and the people behind the numbers
  • Religion — faith and belief in world events

What we stand for

Plain Sight News was founded on a set of commitments — to honesty, to peace, to justice, and to using part of what this newspaper earns to help people in need. Those commitments are set out in full in More Than a Newspaper: Why Plain Sight News Stands for Humanity, Truth, Peace and Justice.
